Salutes the Graduates of the Fall 2009 Sommelier Program
at the Epicurean Institute in Perugia, Italy
Perugia, Italy, Dec. 16, 2009– The Epicurean Institute in Perugia, Italy, is pleased to announce the completion of the Fall, 2009 Sommelier Study Program and the success of the graduates, Astrid Fasciano, Leah Robinson, Divij Lamba and Yanique Deal Bradford who are now certified Sommeliers through the Italian Association of Sommeliers (AIS).
The Epicurean Institute's Graduation ceremony, in collaboration with the Italian Association of Sommeliers (AIS) took place during a banquet at the 4-star Hotel Giotto, in Assisi, Umbria. The event was officiated by Dr. Orazio Giliberti, owner and trustee of the Epicurean Institute, and President of AIS Umbria and owner of Beresapere in Perugia Gabriele Ricci Alunni. Also in attendance were Professional Sommelier and co-owner of Beresapere, Roberto Canali, AIS Provincial Delegates Marco Servili of Assisi, Mauro Lucaroni of Gubbio, Alessandra Angelucci of Foligno/Spoleto and AIS Umbria Treasurer and Level III Professor Romeo Mancini, Program Director of the Epicurean Institute Morgan Morano and Marketing and Special Events Director of the Epicurean Institute.
The graduation banquet commenced with a reception in the lounge of the hotel with an aperitivo of Novelli's Blanc de Blanc accompanied by an assortment of appetizers. This was followed by a sumptuous repast consisting of five courses served with three distinctive wines. A first course of Eggplant Parmigiana was paired with Tabarrini's white 2007 Adarmando. A dessert of Persimmon Flan with White Chocolate Mousse was paired with La Palazzola's 2004 Vinsanto.
